All MNHS-produced supplemental curriculum products need a companion document that aligns each product to the 2021 Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards for Social Studies. The MNHS Teacher Education and Curriculum Development Team is reviewing existing products and the 2021 standards and is looking for an intern to support the development of standards-alignment documents.

Student Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the K-12 education landscape in Minnesota
  • Familiarity with or interest in learning about K-12 academic standards and curriculum alignment
  • Knowledge about history or other social studies disciplines or ethnic studies ideal
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong ability to analyze and organize information
  • Detail-oriented, thorough, and able to meet deadlines
Student Responsibilities
  • Read and familiarize oneself with the MNHS Supplemental Curriculum Products
  • Read and familiarize oneself with the 2021 MN K-12 academic standards for social studies
  • Communicate with supervisors and MNHS staff engaged in education-related work
  • Align standards with MNHS education products, gather feedback and revise as needed, and complete publishable document 
Knowledge Intern is expected to gain
  • Experience aligning curriculum with academic standards across multiple disciplines
  • Familiarity with the 2021 MDE social studies standards, including new ethnic studies content standards and pedagogies, as well as ELA, Science, and Art
  • Experience working in various national standards guidelines such as C3, Common Core, etc.
